BJS collects, analyzes, publishes, and disseminates information on crime, criminal offenders, victims of crime, and the operation of justice systems at all levels of government. The data is critical to federal, state, and local policymakers in combating crime and ensuring that justice is both efficient and evenhanded.

Measures for Justice gathers criminal justice data at the county level and uses them to populate performance Measures that address: public safety, fair process and fiscal accountability. Note that this is a newer resource that is adding data regularly.
