What are citation managers?

A citation manager, also often called a reference manager, is an application that help you to collect, organize, and cite your sources.There are numerous citation management applications available -- some are freely available, while others may requirement a paid subscription.

Below are a selection of citation managers, some you may have heard about in classes or stumbled across in library databases.

This guide is intended to introduce you to these applications and provide tutorials on how to get started. Note that Lavery Library does not support or recommend any particular citation manager.
