Lincoln: The Constitution and the Civil War explores the Lincoln presidency, rousing debate on one of the most controversial leaders of his time and the most written about American president in history. Was Lincoln the Great Emancipator, justly standing to destroy the institution of slavery in the United States, or simply a skilled politician, using every means to protect the Union?
Explore these issues and more as Lavery Library hosts the traveling exhibit Lincoln: The Constitution and the Civil War. Developed by the National Constitution Center, in collaboration with the American Library Association, and made possible by a major grant from the National Endowment for the Humanities: great ideas brought to life.
